There's nothing scary about a roast.

Fred: "So...did you hear the Bears beat the Dolphins yesterday?"

Shaggy: "That's horrible! Who in their right mind would bring bears to the beach?"

So...anyone else catch Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins on Cartoon Network earlier tonight? : D
Oh my goooooooosh. It pleased me. I've been a Scooby-Doo nut since I was six years old. It's one of those CN shows I wish they played more often. (Right up there with PPG and the other classics.)

I heard about it months before any trailers started showing. I liked the theater movies, so I thought maybe this one would be alright. Then I saw the full trailers and I started losing a smidge of hope. (Mainly when I noticed Freddie's hair was brunette instead of blonde. :/ But that was really my only problem.)
Boy was I wrooooooong. It's definitely CN's best live-action movie.

The cast really nailed their characters. Nick Palatas (PA-LA-TAS. Don't tell me that is NOT fun to say.) really got Shaggy's voice right! Sometimes I wish I had a manly voice so I could try mimicking his voice. (This one just won't do.) Sometimes I got bugged whenever he laughed, 'cause it always sounded like he was saying "heh heh", but other than that - great! :]
The CGI was kind of poor compared to the theater movies, but what can you do with a low budget for a TV movie? I didn't expect anything less.

I also figured out who the culprit was 1/3 way into the movie...but whatever. It's not like everyone would notice it immediately if they were working on the case, right?

So what else can I say? It was funny, I liked it, seeing Fred's actor dressed like a gangster made me LOL, Daphne had to style Velma again (that always seems to happen), and I recommend it to Scooby fans. C: I'd probably rate it... :star: :star: :star: :star-half: :star-empty:? Most movies I like are never rated that high, anyways. Other people would probably give it lower...but I'm optimistic and I really like Scooby-Doo. D:

I'm gonna feel real bad for my friends tomorrow since I'm going to be quoting the movie a lot. XD Ha ha.

...on another note, I plan to be Velma for Halloween. 8D YAY.

Now it's back to school tomorrow. SIGH. I hope you all had a great weekend!

Your Pal,
Toony :sherlock:

I wanted to see it but I also am a die hard Scooby fan, I thought it may crush some dreams by the looks of it. Freddy's hair is so upsetting...

Well, Freddie Prince Jr., the actor who plays Freddie in the theater movies, originally has dark hair. Maybe we can just assume he dyed it later?
It contradicted a lot of "A Pup Named Scooby Doo", but that was a spin-off series anyways, so I guess it didn't have to be that accurate...

I'm just glad Scooby Doo is still around for the newer generation.
I nearly fainted when my little cousin said he didn't know who the Powerpuff Girls were. :faint:

I saw it tonight as well! Truthfully, I liked it a lot better then the theater films (I don't know, I just think it was closer to the original series then the theater movies were...). My biggest problem is how modern they made it. I can understand why they did it, seeing as their target audience is/was one growing up no and not when the series first aired but I just felt it was a little less Scooby-Doo when I saw some of them with cell phones and iPods... but it was still awesome! I still loved it! (and I loved the end with all of the throw backs to the original series... now if only they used the original theme song as well...)
