If you couldn't already tell, I started school today. >___> Boohoo.
I miss summer already.
It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either. It was just...kinda boring. :/
Aside from Graphic Design and Chemistry, I barely know anyone in my classes. And to be honest...they're not really people I want to get to know. Maybe that'll change later on in the year. Either that or I'll suffer all through the year.
I already found people who will be in my lunches later this week, but today I ended up sitting alone and doodling some guy sitting. The upside is I get to eat with my sister, :iconcocoachocopowder: tomorrow! : D

And I already have homework tonight. u__u
Aww well, I guess I'll listen to my new Miley Cyrus album while I take notes.

So, erm, this journal is mainly to say if I'm not submitting lots of art, you now know why.
...and I know I never finished my iChallenge pictures. I didn't reach my summer goalll. ;o;

Anyways
HAVE A LOVELY DAYYYY

Your Pal,
Toony

WOAH. WE'RE ABOUT TO EXPERIENCE A BIG UPDATE HEEEERE.

So I'm finally back from my week spent at a beach house! C: If you remember, I went there last year. That was actually the birthplace of most of Aiden's background - and by that I mean that's where I thought of it, not that he used to live there. xD So of course I drew LOTS of Aiden-related things - but Zee as well! And more! I'll be scanning and uploading those pictures after I fiddle around with my iTunes.

On iTunes, I'm uploading a soundtrack I recently bought. One I bought yesterday, actually - right after seeing the movie. And what kind of movies do I normally want the soundtrack for? Music-related ones.
IF YOU HAVEN'T GUESSED BY THE TITLE AND THESE HINTS - YOU'RE SLOW! I SAW BANDSLAM YESTERDAY! 83

I really liked it. ;w; It was both heartwarming and musical and funny and it was really good! Not the best movie in the world, but I liked it.
I thought Aly Michalka did a fantastic job in the movie - though I might not be the best judge since I've liked her since I first heard Aly&AJ/saw her in Phil of the Future. (Everyone probably hated me in sixth grade because I wouldn't shut up about the concert I went to. xD ...which now that I think about it, the Jonas Brothers opened up for them. ._. ) Vanessa Ann Hudgens did great too! And Gaelan Cowell is really talented. -w-
I also liked Will's back-story - though it made me want to cry. ;__; I felt so bad.

I think the only bad part about seeing the movie was my mom's cell phone accidentally went off during an emotional part. o__o She thought she had it on vibrate but apparently it wasn't, and we didn't know how to shut it off! So she had to leave the theater to answer it, and my sister and I were sitting there, embarrassed. >_>
it was my grandparents, btw. they were just saying they got off the ferry.
...later they also got into a mini-accident - but only the front of their car was destroyed. They're fine, thankfully.

And after seeing it...I learned I know nothing about music. TT-TT I mean, I know about the instruments, some basics, how a soundboard works, how most things are recorded - but I barely know much about any famous bands. I mean, I know names, like David Bowie, but other than that, I don't know much about them.
Maybe I should think again before starting on Crossing Paths.
I need more information.

...but I need to finish my stupid school book first, Three Cups of Tea. >_>
I don't hate the book. I think it's really sweet, actually. It's just that...I'm forcing myself to take notes on each chapter, and that makes the reading EVEN SLOWER.
I have nineteen more chapters to read and only nine days until school starts!

Oh God. School. I'm already having anxiety fits about it. I couldn't sleep the other night because I was so worried!
The stress and anxiety practically tore my mental stability apart last year - I DON'T WANT IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN.
And along with that, I feel I still have so much I want to do before school starts!

I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME.

*takes deep breaths* Alright. I gotta calm down. No need to freak about it...at least, not in public.

A-ah, that's it for me! I hope you're all enjoying yourselves! I'll have pictures up soon!

Your Pal,
Toony :reading:

Ponyo, Ponyo, Ponyo tiny little fish~
da da da da da da...

crap. I forget the rest of the song after that first line. XD SO, if it wasn't obvious enough, I saw Ponyo today! I love, love, LOVED it! It was just so adorable! Even my mom and sister enjoyed it!

It wasn't the best of the Studio Ghibli films, but I liked it. C: And Ponyo was freakin' adorable. XD HAAAAAAAM!
But I hate how I can't draw her [in any form] without a reference. ;__; I doodled her in the car, but it looked nothing like her. D;

Though there was one thing that bothered me. And it wasn't the movie at all. I just don't like it when people are like, "OH THIS IS LIEK TOTALLY A DISNEY FILM lol lol 1!!112one"

NO.

Ponyo [on the Cliff by the Sea] is a Studio Ghibli film that was DUBBED by Disney. That's why it says "Disney presents Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo" on the posters outside of the theater.
...I just wanted to clear that up because I yelled at my mom about it in the car. u_u

Frankie Jonas and Noah Cyrus did a super job for their first dubbing experience! And they're really good singers too. :3 I was impressed.
those two are so adorable - just like their characters - I need to contain my squealing >__>
sh-shut up! it's totally normal for a teenage girl to like two adorable kids...
right? D;

During the movie I found myself paying really close attention to small details, like how the house was drawn/colored, how wet footprints looked frame by frame, and how the water looked as Sosuke trudged through it. I guess I'm pre-studying before my animation class starting in late September. (Not for school. It's an after school thing at a college nearby being held on Saturdays.)

I won't spoil anything in the movie...even though I badly want to talk about it. TT^TT Huguuuu.
Though there was one part - trust me, this isn't spoilerish AT ALL - when Ponyo's dad was just moving through the water, and I started humming the Jaws theme to myself. xD
I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO ANY STUDIO GHIBLI/HAYAO MIYAZAKI FANS! :star:
edit: AND YOU BETTER SEE IT. EVEN IF YOU FEEL LIKE "BOYCOTTING" FOR STUPID REASONS - DON'T. D< THIS JOURNAL EXPLAINS: [link]

Next on my list of to-see movies is BandSlam. I'll probably see it within the next week, but I have much to do before then - like rollerskating! Cx

I've drawn a lot so far since the past week, but I can't scan them until the end of the weekend/beginning of the next week. I'm sorry! >///<

I hope you're all enjoying August~

Your Pal,
Toony :giggle:

P.S. TO THOSE OF YOU WITH REQUESTS...I'll get to work on them soon. D;

P&F Soundtrack?! 8D

Mon Aug 10, 2009, 7:15 AM
  • Mood: Big Grin
  • Listening to: Evil Love
  • Watching: Munto
Randomly I always end up going to Wikipedia. Why? It's addicting. So, browsing the Phineas and Ferb page, I learned that there's going to be a Phineas and Ferb soundtrack coming out on September 15th! O_O
I find myself singing these songs all the time, so I feel that I MUST GET THIS CD. >D

OH YEAH. Now I remember why I was searching the Phineas and Ferb wikipedia page. I wanted to know the name of that song Dr. Doofenschmirtz sings with a date of his. (The song was "Evil Love"~) And I also wanted to search for other Perry-Doofenschmirtz/B-Plot related songs because...I want to make a video of Aiden with one of those songs. >__>
...sh-shut up! I need to make videos! D8

Let's see - what else has been going on with me lately? Uhh, I've done a lot more babysitting jobs. (I actually have to babysit again in a few hours.) Same kids. Same non-stop Brawl-playing.
My only problem is that I always spend my money right after I babysit. ;__; I NEED TO SAAAAVE IT. I've just been splurging on manga books lately...
And tomorrow I'll be going to the new anime store [with ~SoulInArmor, hopefully] that opened in a town forty minutes away from us. So...my wallet will probably be real empty soon...

Oh! But yesterday my family went to the mall, and I actually gathered some good clothes that could also work for a Luke [from the Professor Layton series] cosply! O: I even found a blue hat at Newbury Comics! x3 And the best part is, I can also wear the clothes regularly, not just as a cosplay. ;D
Now all I really need is his socks. After that I'll probably start working on my Laser Cats cosplay.

NOW FOR ART-RELATED NEWS. O:
:bulletblue: I'm still working on the contest idea. I'm not even sure if I'll still follow through with it. u_u It's just that...people probably start school soon, and they might be too busy to enter. Would you enter if I made one?
:bulletblue: I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FINISH THE PROLOGUE FOR CROSSING PATHS. D8 But...I only have one paragraph so far... It's difficult to begin a story.
At the moment, I'm currently just describing the atmosphere of the concert arena. Anyone have an idea of what to compare screaming fangirls to?
:bulletblue: I noticed I've been drawing a lot of Aiden lately. I'm sorry to those of you who are sick of him. >////< But the truth is, I've been doodling Zee too! I just...don't always upload the pictures. And I know I need to draw more of my other characters, since I feel bad if I forget about them...
unghhh. Sometimes it's hard to be a character creator. TT^TT

And...that's about everything exciting going on in my life. ._.
I should get out more... >_>

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the rest of the summer!

Your Pal,
Toony :airborne:

:music: It's the age old story
How an evil boy meets an evil girl
We've got a love strong enough to rule the whole wide world
We both maniacally laugh at all the same stuff
I've got my other half, yes
I've got an evil love
:music:
